About
This site represents just some of my past work. I am no longer shooting commercially but continue to make images of all kinds. I received my B.F.A. in Photography from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, a long time ago, and am the recipient of a Lightwork Grant.
I have photographed everyone from top fashion models (when that was a thing) to Olympic athletes and (B list) celebrities. I’m an avid traveler, having visited over 60 countries to date. I’m working on adding those images to this site…eventually. That archive, at this point, is way larger than my professional and personal work, so maybe they’ll have to be their own site. More recently, I’ve tried to paint. I don’t think I’ll ever be as good a painter as I am a photographer but, who knows….
Since childhood, I've maintained a lifelong passion for photography. As a kid, I was that guy who you always saw with a camera. In retrospect, I feel that the camera gave me permission to look at the world. Growing up, if you had a “professional” camera, you were legit. Having a camera, in those days, made approaching people to take pictures easier. Of course, everyone was way more open and naive, when it came to getting their picture taken. I don’t think I’d be able to take those pictures today.
Shooting models, documentary portraits…or any other subject, to me, was all the same. Photography allowed me to connect to and interpret these subjects, from my point of view, via the image.
I was always and still am, very curious about people and the world. The camera was the tool that not only enabled me to examine the world but also escorted me through it. Photography was always my teacher, my guide, and my companion.
